PDF Print E-mail
It is a known fact that everyone likes pork ribs. Just tell your family that they are having pork ribs for dinner and watch their eyes light up and their mouths start watering. My family is like that and I know for sure how everyone looks forward to a delicious meal of oven cooked pork ribs anytime any day.

However, the one big mistake we all do is to think of cooking pork ribs in a hurry. It will taste even better if you can marinate your pork ribs over night so that the spices and other ingredients will get into the meat to bring out all the flavors. Just because we are in a hurry and want to finish preparing dinner soon, don’t ever make the mistake of cooking pork ribs quickly. Pork ribs should be cooked as slowly as possible so that it will be tender and juicy when it’s done.

When buying pork ribs, make sure you get the correct piece that will help you to cook them to taste “off-the bone” tender and most importantly, you should know exactly how long you should cook your ribs; too fast would only make the ribs dry and leathery with no juices left. The final key to perfect pork ribs is in the sauce. Sweet and tangy will be exactly right. There are a vast range of various BBQ sauces in the market from which you could select and keep on trying until you find the perfect sauce to compliment your ribs.

Now let’s get started, but first take a look at the ingredients that will be needed:
INGREDIENTS:
1 rack of pork cut into pieces
? tablespoon meat tenderizer
1/3 teaspoon ginger
1 ? cups water
? teaspoon salt
Barbecue sauce

Method
Mix the salt, ginger and meat tenderizer together and rub well on the pork ribs. Place the spiced pork ribs in to a shallow tray and leave it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees and let it broil for about 1 hour. Check to see if there’s enough water; and if not, add more and continue cooking for another 45 minutes. Remove the tray and baste the pork ribs with BBQ sauce of your choice and put the tray back in the oven and cook for another 30 minutes at a temperature of 300 degrees. Check the water level one more time while basting the ribs with a second application of BBQ sauce. The temperature should now be increased to 350 degrees and the meat cooked for another 30 – 40 minutes until the meat is tender. Remove from the oven and serve and enjoy the pleasure on the faces of your loved ones.
Although it is a very simple method, the key to this delicious recipe is the slow cooking and basting with sauce several times that brings out the mouth watering flavor of the pork ribs. Your family and friends will love it and will definitely be asking for seconds so be ready to serve more.
