Cook BBQ Chicken in Oven

Unlike beef or pork, most people prefer to BBQ chicken in the oven, because it’s more practical to do so and also if the weather does not permit you to go out to prepare BBQ chicken on a grill, baking checking in the oven is the most practical. Cooking BBQ chicken is simple and easy and the flavor depends mostly on the type of BBQ sauce used to cook the chicken. Americans of course use various different and delicious sauces to coat their chicken, mostly depending on the state in which it is cooked.
Given below is the easy way to BBQ chicken in the Oven:
1.Wash the chicken thoroughly and dry it.
2.Marinate the chicken in sauce for about 24 hours.
3.Preheat the oven and cook in a temperature of 200 degrees.
4.Remove tray from oven and drain out the fat.
5.Replace the chicken and pour sauce over it and bake for half an hour at the same temperature.
Keep in mind not to overcook or undercook the chicken. You chicken should be cooked in about 2 ? to 3 hours provided the temperature is set to not more than 250 degrees. Your chicken will be at its best when it’s slow cooked. Give it time to absorb the juices and be patient.
Since you have already marinated the chicken, do not pour sauce when the chicken is being baked. You can add the sauce of your choice closer to taking it out from the oven. 10-15 minutes before should be enough to apply sauce all over the chicken turning it on all sides. You will know the chicken is cooked when the charring starts. Take it out before it becomes overcooked. Remember, you want tender moist chicken with a smoky flavor and not leathery tasting hard to chew meat.
If you prefer to use only chicken pieces instead of a whole chicken, it’s even easier. To oven cook chicken pieces separately, instead of marinating the whole chicken, you can use seasoning ingredients such as salt, pepper, a little vinegar and garlic.
Place the spice rubbed pieces of chicken on a shallow tray in a pre-heated oven at 175 degrees. Bake for about 1 hour, open the oven and turn the pieces over while basting them with sauce. Leave for another 15-20 minutes and take out the chicken pieces.
Paying close attention to details such as baking time, use of sauces, ingredients and spices used for basting etc, and patience, all add up to the preparation of great tasting chicken. When you have cooked BBQ chicken in the oven once or twice, you will know exactly what to do and when. Things couldn’t be simpler and the chicken will taste absolutely delicious.
